If you’re looking for the perfect honeymoon destination, let me tell you about our unforgettable trip to Kos, Greece. Just a day after our wedding, my husband and I set off for a week-long adventure in June, filled with romance, relaxation, and breathtaking sights.
Staying at Holiday Village Kos – The Ultimate All-Inclusive Retreat
We flew with TUI and arrived at our all-inclusive resort, Holiday Village Kos, which turned out to be an absolute paradise. The hotel was right on the beach, allowing us to spend our days soaking up the sun and listening to the soothing waves. The food at the hotel was pretty good too and they even had a few different restaurants there too! We had a room right at the top of the hotel so we had the most beautiful ocean view but we did have to walk up a long hill to get there😅but it was definitely worth it! The hotel do sometimes drop you to your room if you ask. The spa at the hotel was a haven of tranquility – we indulged in the sauna, jacuzzi, heated beds, and a large swimming pool, making it the perfect spot for unwinding together after the wedding. We also rented a little peddle boat just opposite our hotel which was also really fun. we got to explore a little bit more of the water and relax in the sun whilst we was out on the boat. Next to one of the pools at the hotel there was a bar and next to the bar was a gyros truck, they ended up being mine and my husbands favourite spots to get an ice cream, slushies and some amazingly good gyros😍
Exploring the Beautiful Island of Kos
Kos is an island that combines history, beauty, and adventure. We rented a car, which gave us the freedom to explore at our own pace. One of our first stops was Paradise Beach – a stunning, popular beach with golden sands and crystal-clear waters. The atmosphere was lively, and the views were spectacular.
One of the highlights of our trip was visiting Zia, a charming little town nestled in the mountains of Kos. The town is famous for its incredible sunsets, and it did not disappoint. Watching the sun dip below the horizon with a backdrop of the island’s natural beauty was truly magical. We dined at one of the local tavernas, and the food was absolutely delicious – so much so that we visited Zia twice during our stay!
Another must-visit location is Plaka Forest, home to beautiful peacocks and shaded trails perfect for a peaceful stroll. History lovers will also appreciate the Roman Odeon, an ancient amphitheater that transports you back in time. Kos has a rich historical charm that blends seamlessly with its modern luxury.
